Small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) are one of the key economic drivers on Cape Breton Island. Almost 90% of local companies have fewer than 20 employees. ECBC recognizes the contribution that SMEs make to the economy, and works with entrepreneurs and potential entrepreneurs to help them pursue their business ideas, expand or modernize an existing business and to enhance their competitiveness.
